Chuck, my guess is it came with leather check straps, when my wife’s uncle restored the car he could have used 30- 31 check gear or could have salvaged them from something else, I just don’t know....

Okay, I’ve removed the light switch assembly and everything appears to be fine. While I had it un clipped from the steering gear box I checked the switch at the steering wheel and it still sticks....

Re: Starter Bendix bolt broken
Take a length of garden hose and tape it to a shop vac hose and after the starter is out shove it down to the bottom of the flywheel housing and you should be able to suck the washer and bolt out.
