Yes glass setting tape. C&G and the like have it. Set in the frame by bending the stuff around the edges of the glass and trim off the excess with a box cutter.

When I had my 46 I put some of that powdered stuff ( was Motorcraft) in the rad and run if for a while it bubbled and foamed and overflowed for a while but it cleaned out the crud and you could...

Nice car.. hot engine, juiced up brakes, tele shocks , wow! 36s' along with 39 D/lx are my favorite pre war v8s and Washington blue ( is it?) makes it pop.
