40 pickup

Is there a difference between the hood release handles for a 40 pickup O1C-8215 and a 40 standard O1A-8215A ?
Thanks,
Chris.NZ.

Re: headliners?

Your upholsterer should have, or be able to get, suitable material for your car and install it himself. A lot less problems with correct fit etc. If he's not happy about doing it find another who...

Re: Radiator interchange

37 radiators are different in that they do not have the attachments for the draft deflectors on each side, but otherwise they will fit.

Re: 39 40 Deluxe coupe doors

Keep looking for 39 std or deluxe coupe doors - less trouble and probably cheaper.
38 std coupe doors will work just fine too as the exterior trim holes are the same.

Re: Selling a vehicle and money questions...

I live down under in New Zealand and have found either wire transfer ( bank to bank ) or a bank check, seems to be the best way for buying cars or parts from the USA. I have never a problem with...

Re: 39 roof antenna

Keep trying - it will come eventually if the screws are removed.
It was slid in there originally - nothing fancy.
It's just taken a set - that's all.
Try some WD-40 or CRC.

Re: 1940 Ford coupe

Why would you ?
Standard looks better IMHO.
Much sleeker than the '40 deluxe front which has been rounded off.
I guess to prepare the car buying public for the all new 41 shape.
Mind you the '40...

Re: 1940 Ford coupe headliner bows

$150 set of 5.
You have made the effort of blasting and painting them.
As well - 38/39/40 coupe examples are less common than sedan ones.

Re: lebaron bonney

Anyone had dealings with MTM from Rhode island.
They have given me a pretty good price and delivery for a 39 deluxe convertible coupe top.

Re: Happy bday 1939

Both the 39 standard and 39 Deluxe have much cleaner and pleasing lines than the 40 deluxe - IMHO. 40 standards are OK.

Re: No Lebaron Bonney, now where do I order?

I have a 39 std coupe here in New Zealand presently being upholstered with Le Baron Bonney material that I bought about 10 years ago. Lucky I got it so long ago I guess.

Re: Canadian crank indentification

The Canadians made castings like blocks and heads but I would think given the proximity of Detroit to Windsor, Ontario, that the crankshafts and camshafts were made and machined in the USA.
They do...

Le Baron Bonney offer leather as an option for 1940 coupes - standard and deluxe, or at least they used to.
I have a folder from them, sent to me some years back with the leather and vinyl samples...
