Re: How bad is this crack?

Re: What was it in its previous life?

Re: How can I tell an early Merc v8 from Ford

There are two main ways : casting and stamping numbers or take them apart and inspect them. After all of the time that has passed since they were produced and all of the rebuilds and modifications...

Re: Post pics?. . . from computer to Ford Barn?

I just posted this as an addendum to "JSeery"'s excellent procedure.

"JSeery"'s post #6 in the aforementioned thread is fine, and will work if the picture is "small" enough (pixel-wise). Where I...

Re: I'm a turncoat...

I believe you are thinking of Packard. They had 9 main bearings and later they punched them out to 356 ci. (I've always wanted one of those.)

Re: I'm a turncoat...

Look at it this way : It's still a flathead! And 53 ci larger with dual carbs to boot!

I'd have made the change in a heartbeat.

Re: 12 Volt Bosch blue coil PN-00012

Don't I know it. I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware of the exact parts being used so they can give the best possible advice.

I can't wait to see the finished product!:)

Stan, are you sure? I know you bought a couple of condensers from me. I don't think Bubba offers them.

Re: How do I post photos?

I think the the main thing that should be mentioned is that size matters. For whatever reason, photos that can be used just about anywhere else can to too large to post on the Barn and will give you...

Re: '40 Ford Rear-end

Back in the day, when we were young and broke, we would loosen the axle nut about 1 turn and then drive the car in increasingly aggressive "figure-8's" until it popped off.

These days, I also...

Re: best 6v coil

If you want to get rid of that coil, let me know. If you have a multi-meter, you can test it. It should show single digits ohms resistance on the primary side and something over 10,000 ohms on the...

Re: best 6v coil

Mallory used to sell a round-bottomed coil that actually said "The BEST coil I ever made, M. Mallory" right on it. I have one with the matching dual point distributor on my hot rod engine, and can't...

Re: Electric power steering from a Saturn Vue into '54 Ford Customline
