Hi . I set the idle at 500. The vac. gauge read 19 in. the rpm now is 700 the dwell is 34 ?? is that good or ok. dis. is a chev. the air scews are 1 1/2 turns out. starts and runs good. thanks again...

the two low speed idle jets on the back off the carb. is two and 1/2 turns out enough ?. thanks for any info. Jack.

power valve

I'm replacing the pv. in the 94 carb. I have the pv. fairly tight and it still seeps a little, how tight should it be??. thanks for any info. Jack.

Thanks for the reply. The car is a friend of mine. and he bought a pair of fender skirts there is no where on the car or skirt to fasten them on? Jack.

49 horn

the horn on the 49 quite working. I under stand if you push down on the horn ring and turn left the horn can be removed then you can clean the contacts? when I remove the horn ring will anything fall...

HI guys, I'm thingking about changing the gear in the 49 car from a 3.78 to a 3,o8 hoping it would make the car more hyw. friendly ?. thanks for any info. Jack.

It is a 49 ford with a chev. dis. it started to miss yesterday when going up a steep hill, I am guesssing that the con. is braking down? Jack.

1949 paint colour

I was at NAPA this morning to see if they could match the dark blue on the car it is the original colour. there records go back to 1951.to 1954 has the same blue but nothing for a 49?. any ideas....

To day I got the 49 out of storage I had the cars inside full of bounce sheets as well under the hood and the trunk. In the trunk the bounce sheets where chewed up and there was a nest in the trunk ?...

autolight 295

I was just reading about dirt track racing in the 1960s and the preferd plug was a 295 autolight . I use a 216 in the 49 I never heard off a 295 has anyone tried a 295?. jack
