Re: 1932 Ford Vin

Yes I think it is an "assigned" number. It is all steel. I am trying to get in touch with the owner.

1932 Ford Vin

I'm looking at a 1932 Vicky that is showing a vin of BCS 2671. Checking Van Pelt and other info, I cannot make sense of this. What am I missing?

Re: Henrietta rules

Bill is right. In our club it is done in fun and always respect for the recipient. If anyone leaves because of it, it was either not handled respectfully or they don't belong anyway. These clubs...

Re: Thinking of buying a model A

This just what I was going to say. I had several coupes and fit in them fine, but never had the money to finish them. 50 yrs later, saw a 28 roadster, wow, had to have it. Now I can't fit in,...

Re: Flywheel balancing

Sounds like a great idea, but wouldn't you want to balance it AFTER the new ring gear is installed. The original worn gear would balance differently than with a new gear. Just asking, trying to...

Re: How long is to long to wait for a refund.

My experience has been that the retailer submits the credit to the credit card company, but the credit card company holds off before posting the credit to the cardholder. Not the retailers fault.

Re: Tomorrow's a big day in my life

I bought a Direct Lift 4 post several years ago. Also use it to lift and turn small boats. Great tool.

Re: V8-60 Fords Little Powerhouse

We are currently rebuilding one at Boghosian's in Fresno, for an old wooden hydroplane. Would love to have the book also.

Re: Not Model A but interesting

Does anybody still use Loran? In 1991 as I recall that was what was used for coastal navigation.

Re: 5 Window Coupes ???

In 49 the "hardtop convertible" was born, as it simulated the convertible look. A 2 door or later a 4 door with no post. It has just been shortened to "hardtop" through the years.

Re: Psychological pressure from this forum to "upgrade". Fake news?

I disagree about the "prevailing ideology." I just finished reading another post on the flathead forum about mechanical brakes on early fords, and how much better they are when adjusted properly...

Re: v8-60 Head warp question

Also check the length of the lower studs on the block. While refitting aluminum heads to a "new" 60 block, we found that those studs were not long enough to give sufficient length for the nut. They...

Re: Wooden trunk With cloth cover?

"Clear Penetrating Epoxy" is what it is called. Commonly used by wooden boat restorers. Jamestown Distributers sells it. Several apps to warm wood seems

Re: Hauler

I would be very careful with a private hauler! To save $200 or so is not worth the risk to me. I have used Reliable many times and never been disappointed
