They have different armatures and field windings, one has two brushes and the other has four.

The AA uses the same flywheel housing as the A, the picture is an AA clutch housing.

Definition of nodular iron
: cast iron in which the graphite is present as tiny nodules of characteristic structure.

With a three brush generator the battery determines the output voltage
and the third brush adjusts the current output. Sounds like you maybe have a
bad connection between the battery and...

Not sure but it looks like the rotor clip may be missing. If the rotor is sloppy
you need to get one.

There are no missing pedal stops, they are on the pedals and
bellhousing.
