Re: Bad steering new shaft

The shafts in the F-100 starring box modifications are welded similarly. The weld can be x-rayed and condition can be determined. If done properly it shouldn't be of too much concern. Why did you...

Re: Intake manifold getting hot

A burnt or warped intake valve might do that. A bad exhaust gasket leaking on it might also.

Re: Engine rebuild list

It might depend on who did the rebuild. Did you contact the shop that did your work? I once had a Model T engine that I took to a shop and had them tear it down enough for them to mike and measure...

Re: Corn Head Grease Too Fluid for Gun

Many do just that, but then make the mistake of using non fluid grease or gear oil. That is why Ford switched to a plug early on.

Re: LED shop light follow-up

Exactly too true, photos in order show my first garage. When it got full things went to the barn. Then we added a large garage with shop. Put an only 4' door between the bays and shop so I couldn't...

Re: Ahooha

Didn't anybody explain that when you make modifications the Ford gets even? The alternator works differently than a generator with plain cutout. Go through the horn, bring it back to specs, and it...

Re: Clutch stuck

The disc can adhere to the flywheel because of plain gunk and rust.

Re: Cracked Head

Straight water with soluble oil is what I use but it should be drained in the winter if there will be freezing temps. Antifreeze tends to seep and leak and can cause real problems.

Re: Door glass

A glass shop could sand the excess off non tempered glass easily, if it truly is excess.

Re: Paint or Stain Trunk

It looks too nice to paint or stain. Why not just do a water repellent treatment? If you want a different color the auto parts stores sell fabric dyes in auto colors.

Re: Fresh overhaul & modern lube'

I would suggest 5-30 instead of 5-20 oil since a rebuilt engine will run at a higher temperature at first. Things in an A engine will never be to the close tolerances as a modern engine. I would use...

Re: "B" Distributor timing with an "A" front cover

That won't work because the car will run too retarded. I think in this senerio you should buy a B timing cover with a B distributor or add a stop to the A distributor to stop full advance.

Re: "B" Distributor timing with an "A" front cover
