Re: discussion on way to make a press for stainless to hubcap dish

"Parts in the oven" are similar to "parts in the dishwasher"; both best done when the wife is gone long enough to do the job and erase any evidence.

Re: Whats it worth? 30-31 Briggs fordor

First thing, you need better pictures.

Look at how the pictures are structured on a pro car brokers web sight and do the same.

Good paper in your name is important these days.

Re: side view mirror

I've found that I could not angle the clip-on mirror inward far enough on the R/H side. I angle ground the bracket as much as I could to bring it in further; which made it just barely usable.

Re: '34 Windshield Glass Replacement

We just put a windshield in my friend's '33 Tudor.

If you drill an 1/8" hole thru the hinges before you take them apart, you can stick a pin in there when reinstalling the windshield; saves...

Re: V8 60 king pin lock bolts

Seems like the application listed for this part is overly wide; I've only seen the round lock pins in early Model A's and the tube axles.

Personally, I would drill the axle and use normal lock and...

Re: 1935 torque tube

Are you relocating the spring hangers? Seems like a front spring would be too narrow as the original front spring perches are about 42" inches while the rear perches are 48".

Thanks for the info.

Tossed the Vintique seal and put the Bob Drake seal on, windshield frame fits again.

Re: 36 coupe roof insert replacement help

Friend used the 2x4 frame idea to hold the membrane tight when he secured it to the roof on the A sedan. The frame with the remaining membrane is leaning against the door in the picture.

Re: 36 coupe roof insert replacement help

The tack strip was gone on my '35, I cut some poly and pop riveted it in the groove, I then tacked down some billboard membrane (instead of canvas), followed by 1/4 dense foam (instead of cotton...

Who's '33-'34 sedan windshield frame gasket works best

Been fighting with a Vintique '33-'34, fits the frame OK; but is too stiff to fit the frame into the car.
Wondering who's gasket others have used and if they had better results.

Re: Where to buy 1936 Brake Shoes?

More than likely the exact application doesn't matter since they are only selling the service of relining your existing shoes.

Better off dealing with Brake & Equip as you suggested. No middle man...

Re: Brakes

If you can't find locate good wheel cylinders; you can address the miss-drilled holes by milling the slot in the large piston a little deeper, 1/8" works. This lets the cup sit clear of the hole. You...

Re: Drum / hub retainer

While original safety hubs turn up from time to time on the auction place; @SUHRsc idea in the previous post looks good and not too tough to make.

Re: Part numbers for F1 wheel bearings

Unless things have changed recently; the inner bearing in Speedway's kit still needs to have a radius ground on the edge.

Their bearing kit also come loose in a plastic bag, not nicely boxed like...

Re: Help bearing race removal F1 hub

What aspect of this are having a problem with?

I knocked quite few inner races out of all the different styles of F-1 and F-100 hubs with a regular old flat nosed punch.

On the hubs with-out...

Re: Pulling rear hub and axle shaft assembly on 50 woodie

Yes, probably rust has expanded and holding the bearing tight.

Another place where oxy/acetylene can be your friend.

Re: Pulling rear hub and axle shaft assembly on 50 woodie

My Motors book shows a break down of the wagon rears and there are no axle clips; just the outer bearing retainer.

They have the slide hammer adapter you can borrow at O'Reilly's.

More than a...
