Yes you can easily force "phase separation" with water. If you start with 92 Super unleaded you end up about 88 octane petrol gasoline. It's a bit of a hassle, but if you can't easily buy...

It is close. It's a little bit lighter, and appears more glossy when dry. If both are not next to each other, you'd never know.

Who is confused? Everyone should be confused because I've never seen definitive documentation stating that type F should be used.
All I know is my car did not like type F.

300 miles ago I put Type F in my '51 Merc-o-matic. It seemed good and the upshift and downshift while cruising was ok but once the trans was nice and warmed up it went hard into reverse and drive...

Just wanted to update this thread. I got the Champion radiator in and the there is a design flaw. The top tank is offset towards the engine instead of towards the front and it leave a big gap for air...

It runs good. Thought since it gets such occasional use it is probably carboned up. Just wanted to hear opinions on Sea foam. I'll leave it alone.

Short answer= 230 is too hot.
If you are cruising at 65 mph and can't stay below 210 something is wrong with your heat exchange. Most old cars have the opposite problem. Good temps at speed and...
