Re: Emergency brake ?

Ryan,
Well, as soon as I got your response I went out to the garage and did my adjustments. I turned one clevis one fill turn and the other clevis one and a half turns. I think I can now park on a...

Re: Emergency brake ?

No, Ryan, I don't think I am but I can't pull the handle back any further. I figured that when I said the brake won't hold at three clicks someone would tell me to pull it back four clicks. Can the...

Emergency brake ?

Hey, Group,
My E brake will not hold my '30 Town Sedan on a grade. I can pull the handle back three notches but it's just not enough to hold the car. The Les Andrews book really doesn't address this...

Re: oil leaking friom shift tower

I can't see how you could overfill the transmission as its full point is when you pour in the lubricant it would run back out of the hole. Unless you fill it from the top before you put the shift...

Re: Engine Splash Pan Installation Documentation?

I like Ruth's idea of tapping the frame. Otherwise you need about three hands to install.

Rear Main Question ??

We're putting together the best parts of two engines (one a '29 and one a '31) to make one good one. When we tried to bolt on the rear main, the bolts were too long. Finally found in the Les Andrews...

Re: Gas?

1929,
Some winters I've used Sta-bil and some winters I haven't. It doesn't seem to make any difference. I've driven my car for 26 years. I guess it's your choice.

Re: the dreaded crack

Thanks for your responses, guys. We have decided to go with the weld. Seems more permanent and after some research on-line we feel we have the ability to do the job right. Thanks again.

the dreaded crack

Well, guys, we need your advise. In rebuilding a '29 engine everything was going along well until we stripped off the putrid yellow paint and found the dreaded crack in the block. There are actually...

Re: Brand New V.S. Rebuilt Carburetor

I had a beat-up leaky Tillotson on my '30 town sedan from the day I bought it. On the day I got my first social security check, my wife and I drove to Snyder's and I bought a brand new Zenith. It's...

Re: 4 Blade Fan Removal

I agree what Dave, John, and Bruce said. What I did was take the nut off the impeller and turn it around. That way you have a solid surface to bang away on and won't ruin the points on the castle...

Engine with two stars

We just brought home an engine to play with. When we looked at the engine number, A2406873, we noticed a star before the numbers and a star after the numbers. Is this normal?

Re: Installing motometer

Nlbloch,
To answer your question, yes, loosen the allen bolts and position the motometer in place. Before you tighten the bolts aim the meter so that you can see the thermometer from your driver's...

Re: light switch question

My '30 town sedan has cowl lights that I never use. I think they're just "pretty for nice" as my Dad used to say.

Re: Window glass

As I understand, tempered glass is hardened and will break into many, many small pieces and not large shards that will injure. Safety glass is two pieces of glass with a plastic or glue sandwiched...

Re: Install disconnect between 1 and 2, or 3 and 4?

I put mine in the ground between #1 and #2. I did that because Tom, at Snyder's, told me that was the best way to break the connection. Snyder's sold me the cables that fit perfectly when installing...

Re: Looking for Wind Wings

Look at the Snyder's catalog, page 188 - 189. Looks like everything you need.
