Re: Importing a car from Canada

What kind of car and where is it located. Western Canada is a large area.
We were looking at a Lincoln out west and something smelt real bad about the whole deal. We never did go to look at it.

Re: Swap meet selling

Clean every thing and shoot some primer on it. The last thing people want is old dirty oily parts. This will fetch better prices.
Second Masking tape is cheap. put prices on everything. I hate...

Re: T-5 transsmission

What work really good is to use the input shaft and gears from a Z-28 and the rear half of a S-10. I did this 5 years ago and am real happy with it.
T-5 transmissions and parts are getting...

Re: Gasoline and time

We run into this a lot at the boat dealership that I help out at. Boats get stored for 3, 4 years when the owner loses interest in it and the new owner can't get them to start or run.
If it smells...

Re: Moving to 12V starter maybe

I modified a later 12V starter to take the old style bendix. Works like a charm. It spins the motor at normal speed, not in warp drive.
All you have to do is drill a shallow hole to take the dog...

Re: king pin needle bearing's

I can confirm the stories of the needle bearings causing the death wobbles. I changed the kingpins on my truck and right away it started to wobble. Everything was brand new and tight. Changing...

Re: Is it possible to know this stuff?

If he loved the motor that much to do this kind of research, WTF is he doing replacing it with a big block.

Total crock.

Re: T5 Transmission Swap

put the tranny into first gear and rotate the input shaft. Watch how many revolutions you need to turn it to get one complete turn of the output shaft.
Casting numbers mean nothing.

Re: Advice needed: 1950 F1 Parts

There is nothing wrong with the gas tank in the cab. If your in a wreck bad enough that the tank ruptures, Your not going to be alive to worry about it. I've had mine like that for 25 years now. ...

Re: A Funny Mac's Story

Let me guess, the grommet is worth $1 and Mac's charged you $10 shipping. Mac's isn't the only one doing this. I just got ripped off by Enco where the shipping and handling was worth more that the...

Re: Nickel copper brake.fuel lines.

That AGS line, if it is made in china, looks to be very fine stuff. I have no complaints about it.

Re: Nickel copper brake.fuel lines.

It is sold under the name nicopp. short for nickle copper. Best deal I found is on Amazon for rolls of it. AGS is the main company that makes the lines and fittings.
I love using it. I'll...

Re: 51 f1

The generator and fan is offset a little over an inch. This causes the fan to hit it's shroud, if you have one.

Re: valve spring shim installation theory

John is correct. Those longer valves are already a few grams heavier than a stock Ford valve. The few tenths of a gram that the shim weighs is nothing.
Who actually weighs their valves? Nobody. ...

Re: Need advice T5 adapter to Flathead

Looks like an electric speedo, so very likely WC. You have to look at the front bearing cup of the cluster gear. You can't see it in that picture.
