I had a rattle that turned out to be the rod in E brake that is activated when you push the button on top to release the e brake. Drove me crazy till I found it as I thought it was...

I'm getting my A back on the road after about 2 years of storage with no use, had some fuel issues and have drained tank, cleaned lines, cleaned carb of all the junk.

She starts quickly now, but...

I have a 29 phaeton and store them under the front seat, it is a tight fit. Don't use a bag just. I do place a towel on top to provide some cushion. Been doing this for about 10 years with no issues.

On second thought, I used that on the rod in the emergency brake. Again, it worked there.

I've always done it the same way, never any problems. Well once, when I wasn't paying attention, caught my finger between the irons......ouch! My fingernail did grow back.
