Re: electric fans and temp gauge?

Most 460's had sensors for emissions in the T stat housing. I know the fitting is on the radiator side of the T stat but it might be worth a try.

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons

The 55 came out better than Wayne Newtons Lincoln wagon.

Re: 64 Galaxie adding sound deadening material

The most sound I notice coming into cabin of car is from wheel houses and firewalls if weather strips are in good shape. Thick carpet padding does great.

Re: Electric fuel pumps...

The OP all have good ideas but you might try just opening the hood and letting it sit for the night after cruise to let the heat buildup out. Painless experiment. Just a thought.

Re: 351w block problems

It's pretty hard to go wrong with any Ford engine. The emission years before fuel injection were hard on all manufacturers. The 351W survived through it all from Mustangs to Mini homes. I don't know...

Re: 55 F100 start button

Re: 32 Pa. LicenPlates now legal on my 32 now

I don't believe Iowa has YOM yet. As soon as they figure out how to make money on it they will. They make you buy new plates every 10 years and have the stickers on all. So if you have any type of...

Re: 1956 Mercury XM Turnpike Cruiser "Idea Car"

Lot of styling cues were used in later years, front fender headlamp area looks like 57 ford while the side of it looks like Mercury intermediates in later years. Stainless in the door openings like a...

Re: 351w block problems

There are 2 different deck height 351W's. 69 and 70 were 9.480 and 71 up were 9.503. The only oil problem I read about was a lot of the 95 roller cam blocks would crack the cam tunnel were they were...

Re: New Brake Shoes

I would take it apart and measure the drums to see if they are beyond limits. It doesn't sound safe to drive if it fades out in couple of blocks.

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons

Ford built a Magic Cruiser in 66 and another in 67 just show cars but 2dr hardtops. Kind of a odd wagon in 69 that appeared to be a 3 door hardtop, Lincoln type doors on right side and 1 door on left...

Re: Model A gas tank cleaning

If you are anywhere near a redi strip you might contact them. I have taken engine blocks, sheet metal, rusted solid 1 cyl gas engine carbs. Was always amazed with the results. I used them for a later...

Re: 1963 Hot Rod Ford Performance Handbook Ford 406

I have a 406, it's not crossbolted. Got it from a friend that bought the car new. It was a XL so maybe later production. Read something once that said there were crossbolted engines in nascar cars....

Found something I thought was a interesting read. Not sure where to share or if it's appropriate? Most of it appears to be speculation. https://www.nailhed.com/2014/01/henry-fords-other-son.html
