John Bradley's name was the one that escaped me.

Our own Ronnie Roadster has done extensive block work, testing and racing as well. I'm hoping he'll chime in.

Got it. I think you'll need to talk some of the heavy hitters have done the adding extra port work.

What type of racing are we taking about? Will the block be dry or wet? Wet adds another...

JWL did a lot of dyno work on this subject. He made a pretty neat divider that the results can be found in his book Flathead Facts.

Just a guess, but I would think it was by actual design. That boss on the back of the bell housing top 1/2 was for a governor, so maybe the restrictive ports helped to achieve the desired effect of...

I know it's not the same, but they make some mock up stuff from these four bangers to make then look like old timey OHV bangers. May be something to consider.

I’ve drilled and threaded two holes in the metal hub of the wheel to allow a “modern” style wheel puller to be used. Worked great.
