The springs were considered to be a counter balance springs.The top will work just as well with out them.They do very little.I have done a few of these cars with out the springs with no problems. ...

The chrome dash plastic is definitely aftermarket. They all had soybean plastic of different shades according to year and model. Never chrome.

1941-1948 Ford convertible top instructions

Is there any instructions by Ford for the correct way to put the top down. I have seen people lower the top with out dropping the rear window.I thought that it should be unzipped and lowered first....

The optima is the only choice for me.I have one in all my cars.Some are hidden in Ford cases.All work well with long life.I got 8 years out the one in my 1946 ford coupe.
