Drilled and taped the top of the timing gear cover to receive the return line from the oil filter.
Quieted the timing gear noise.

I had the same problem with a 38 24 stud with dual 97s. I run only in the warm weather. I blocked the heat riser with core plugs and installed about 5 gaskets under each carb, Problem solved.

Runs great - no stumble, 45s with 65 pv - bogged - too rich.

I remove the positive ground strap on the 6v Optima battery and reconnect in the Spring.

I had the same problem with squeaky generator brushes on a flathead when I was 16 and my grandfather had me put just a drop of kerosene on the commutator and no problems after that application.

Change oil and put in detergent oil. I had that with a 221 that smoked and detergent oil cured the problem. One quart of MMO in the crankcase would help. Be patient.

I have installed a new condenser in a tuneup only to have a no start. And you may have paint under the condenser mounting tab. I would try the condenser that you used before the rebuild.
