Re: Gas mileage question

I ran my mileage keeping track of fill ups and the odometer for over a 400 mile period. Granted my odometer is likely off (speedometer shows slower than I'm going). My mathematics is fine.

Re: Gas mileage question

My Fordor (with a B engine) gets 18. We did a test with a Zenith gas mileage test machine on one for the A's in the club. He's running a Mitchell Overdrive and an insert engine with a 5.5 high...

Re: Do you take your Model A to the local self serve car wash?

That's odd, the brush type are about the only thing we have around here.

Re: Two Shock Absorber Question

Thanks for pointing that out. I believe he asked if the OP had access to swap meets and then proceeded to offer some advice on how to locate good used shocks if he did have access. I presume he was...

Re: Burtz engine

That's a bit broadly stated. Building cast blocks is not that difficult, it's old and established technology. The key is to set the correct specification and hold the manufacturer to a high level of...

Re: Roadster or Coupe?

I really like the roadsters, but with our winter weather here, for me a coupe makes more sense. Where are you located? If you are going to drive in cooler or sunny winter days you may want the...

Re: What's up with Macs/Ecklers

I don't look at this as a criticism or trashing. I look at it as a warning. I've had the same issue with them as others. I order, they take my money for the entire order then they do a partial...

Re: Steering box grease?

We don't use grease. Opened a couple that had been greased and it was all caked around the casing and nothing was on the actual gears. Cornhead may be different. Don't use it. We use 600W which we...

They can be pretty powerful. I once sat at a light and watch some fellow trying to light his cigarette with the lens on his glasses. He was pretty shaky and the light changed before I could see if...

Re: Engine Number Help

Hey send that engine back home to us.

Most likely an old restamp when they couldn't find a VIN. The state would do that years ago when the motor had the serial. Now they issue a special tag with...

Re: Napa Auto Parts

I agree, but when it's Sunday afternoon and you find out you need a part NAPA is there (if they have it).
