Re: 56' 312 No Spark..finally figured it out!

Yes! Temp fix for now. That kit is not a lot of $$ and will go that route before I get on the road. Thought I'd share that kit as I couldn't find it anywhere on traditional car part sites other than...

I learned best way to ship some of these oversized items is through Fastenal. They ship store to store for a reasonable price.

Re: 272 oil pressure switch and what else

Yes, rubber that has been compressed. I have not read or seen a mod like what you are leading to. Block number tells me a 57' and crank is 312. Just speculating as you that it was some mod drilled...

Re: 272 oil pressure switch and what else

My thoughts as well. I feel it is a sensor of some sort, but I do not see any reference photos or manuals that show that feature. Appears that a wire attached to it with a nut. This is a 57...

Help identifying this dipstick tube

Dipstick tube on my 312 Country Sedan was never bolted to the head. I always thought it was just never attached. I soon discovered there are not enough bends in it. Clearly did not belong to this...

Re: 56 312 Coolant residue on rear main cap.

Update: I was able to pull the intake off the other day and pulled the valley pan. I always suspected the leaky heater valve was the source of my coolant on the rear main. In the photo, the rubber...
