Re: 56' 312 No Spark..finally figured it out!
Yes I did repalce those two seals along with the two band actuators and some metal ring seals. Did not go into the clutch pack. I do believe I missed an engagement somewhere. Wagon will roll in...

Re: 56' 312 No Spark..finally figured it out!
Yes! Temp fix for now. That kit is not a lot of $$ and will go that route before I get on the road. Thought I'd share that kit as I couldn't find it anywhere on traditional car part sites other than...

Re: Parts For Sale Again
I learned best way to ship some of these oversized items is through Fastenal. They ship store to store for a reasonable price.

Re: 272 oil pressure switch and what else
Yes, rubber that has been compressed. I have not read or seen a mod like what you are leading to. Block number tells me a 57' and crank is 312. Just speculating as you that it was some mod drilled...

Re: 272 oil pressure switch and what else
My thoughts as well. I feel it is a sensor of some sort, but I do not see any reference photos or manuals that show that feature. Appears that a wire attached to it with a nut. This is a 57...

Re: 272 oil pressure switch and what else

Re: generator
I'm cleaning up a good 56' working generator with some fresh paint. I have it apart and see brushes are in good shape. I have a bearing/bushing set I can replace since I have it apart.
Looking at...

Help identifying this dipstick tube
Dipstick tube on my 312 Country Sedan was never bolted to the head. I always thought it was just never attached. I soon discovered there are not enough bends in it. Clearly did not belong to this...

Re: original paint y blocks
With complete engine assembly shot red makes sense. Like the generator bracket that is attached to the timing cover would be red because part of the assembly cover bolt down. Interesting I did not...

Re: 56 312 Coolant residue on rear main cap.
Update: I was able to pull the intake off the other day and pulled the valley pan. I always suspected the leaky heater valve was the source of my coolant on the rear main. In the photo, the rubber...
