Re: 3.27 Gear without an Overdrive

I really only use the pickup now if I am going somewhere for the day,and have to carry a bunch of stuff with me.Chairs, coolers, little grill, etc.I just like to keep my revs down on anything.I ran a 58...

Re: 3.27 Gear without an Overdrive

The pickup that I want to put the 3.27's in doesn't have a Mitchell, just the 3.54's.I have a coupe with 3.54's and a Mitchell.

Re: Model A valve guides

The guides go UP to install them, not down. They are held in place by the valve springs, they can't drop down until the spring is removed. The guide comes out through the valve chamber,You won't remove...

Re: Preparing for the end.

I don't think anybody will have to worry about a federal inheritance tax from my estate.I won't meet that 11 million dollar threshold where it kicks in.We don't have a state one where I live either.

Re: 1931 model AA truck

Miles don't mean too much compared to age.A fire dept a couple of towns over has an A truck with less than 6000 miles.Word of mouth, passed down from father to son volunteer firemen, says it is on it's...

Re: current phenomena ................

I bought a manlift 6 months ago to help build my house.I've always done everything by myself, but setting roof trusses at 65 by myself was a bit much.I had told the guy I bought it from that I would...

Re: Hood Corners.

I know you've got it done now,but you can squash short tubular rivets with a ball bearing and a pair of vise grips. You can make it look like machine done.

Re: Preparing for the end.

They are buried side by side in the cemetery next to the fence, with the car about 8 feet away.I really wish I had gotten more information from the farmer that dug the hole and buried the car.I have...

There is a T buried about 3 miles from me,just outside the cemetery fence.A couple got married, neither had ever been married and were getting along in age. They bought a new T,and drove it to Niagra...

Re: wheel painting fixture

I made one years ago,but I didn't find it really usable.I didn't like the idea of mixing up a little DP-40,spray the wheel, let it dry and remove it for the next one.Do that 5 times and then do it...

Re: My cousin in Florida saw this old picture at a Cracker Barrel, this morning!

There is a neat picture of Colonel Sanders with his 31 Coupe in the entryway of a KFC near me.I never noticed it in others, but I would guess it is standard decor for all all of them.At that...

Re: Tire Rotation

In the mid-70's the tire reps drilled into us to only move the new radial tires to keep the same direction of rotation.Left stayed on left and right stayed on right.15 years later I was talking to a...

Re: Radiator Rodding Out

I was taught to set the radiator on it's side, and chase the solder out as I melted it with a wire brush.Takes less heat because you won't have the molten solder fetching up again.takes me a couple of...

Re: curved-handle adjustable wrenches (not 'A')

Re: Gas gauge gasket disintegrated

If you install new cork gaskets and don't get them wet with gas in a couple of months they can disintegrate.I mostly find the quality of the cork is the biggest problem. Also, people will buy a gasket...

Re: Red Dot on New Tires

When I worked at a tire store in high school the Lee tire rep told us that was an old wives tale. Some have marks for quality control, some for inventory, some from out of the country have marks to show...
