Re: 41-48 Woodie Owners...

Is Ed Clarke's business still active or has it shut down at his passing?

41-48 Woodie Owners...

I need about 5-6 of these special washers. They are used on the two rear passenger door hinges to seat the special clipped head 5/16th" hinge machine screws. I've sourced new hinge machine screws...

Re: More help needed with 41 woodie door latch

You are correct, there was no tension at the time I had simply laid the pieces together for the photo. I reassembled the good latch this afternoon with all of the springs in the proper place and it...

More help needed with 41 woodie door latch

So I bit the bullet and disassembled my rear passenger door latch trying to determine what was broken. It appears that the springs are intact but had managed to flip around past their correct...

Re: Varnishing Woodie

You seem to have stirred up a lot of good information but nothing to the point of your question. I'm in the process of refinishing my 41 woodie using Interlux Schooner 96, so far I'm very pleased...

Re: question for 41-48 woodie owners

There would be a lot more brackets and screws to deal with and it appears that the vertical pillars are mortised into the roof structure, so no nothing slipped right off other than that bracket

Re: question for 41-48 woodie owners

Maybe I'm being too optimistic but for a piece of bare metal that has been hanging around for nearly 80 years I didn't think it was that rusty, no flaking etc.

Re: question for 41-48 woodie owners

Yep, it appears to be inserted from the outside and screwed into a threaded boss cast into the bracket. Not a big deal if the top covering is removed but kind of a hassle like this

Re: question for 41-48 woodie owners

Ok for future reference it appears that although 46-48 woodies don't have a hidden screw that secures the top B pillar bracket, 41s do have one. I was unable/unwilling to remove the soft top to...

question for 41-48 woodie owners

I'm repairing and refinishing the wood on my 41. In doing so I'm trying to remove the metal brackets that secure the roof to the B,C, and D pillars. I've removed all of the machine and wood screws...

Re: 1941 Ford woodie door latch repair

46, that would be fantastic, the spring that is broken is the one that controls the locking lever. From what I can tell online the 41 latch looks different than 42-48 but the springs may be the...

1941 Ford Grill Chin Pan

Needing a Grill Chin for my '41 Woodie (passenger car sheet metal not truck/commercial). Of course I would prefer NOS but would take a decent one with no rust out.

Difference in 40 & 41 grill chin

Blew a seal in my floor jack today which allowed the woodie to crash to earth and pretty much destroy the chin piece below the grill. I don't see any sign of a repro piece for a 41 but there are 40...

Re: Need a part ID, name and hopefully a source please

I have a large stock of Adel clamps I was just looking for a bit better look. I've been experimenting with making my own and that would be second choice if I can't find originals.

Re: 41 Woodie tailgate seal question
