Cowl Bracket

I have a '47 cab that I am going to install '40 front sheet metal on.
Someone I think on here said that I would need different brackets that go on the side of the cowl. He even sent me the part...

Cracked Blocks

Is there an area that the "BA" or "Q"blocks were prone to crack?
Do these cracks become visible with the naked eye?
Are these blocks with cracks repairable ?

I see SPEEDWAY has fiberglass '40 pickup front fenders for 1/2 ton pickup
Has anyone ever used these?
I know they are fiberglass but steel are rare.
At 60 MPH they all look the same.
