Re: Longest oil change ever

I know a guy who never changes his oil. He buys Toyotas and only adds oil to them. He'll go a about 200K and then trade them in for a new one.

Re: I notice my transmission leaking a little bit on the floor.

OK, now I think I understand it better. I'll have to see if I have a manual for the transmission.

Re: I notice my transmission leaking a little bit on the floor.

Mine leaks too but I don't drive it much either. What's the Air-cooled converter large O-ring seal? Do you have to pull the transmission to get to it?

Re: Stock 57 Fairlane 500

Thanks Sal. In that case, I'll keep it original.
I'll contact you later towards the end of the year or sooner about rebuilding it.

Re: Stock 57 Fairlane 500

Sorry to hijack the thread.
Sal, can the modification be easily reversed? I still have the original distributor with new dual diaphragms as well as the newer distributor that I've been running.

Re: Stock 57 Fairlane 500

Sal, I still have my original teapot so I would have you rebuild it.I didn't see any improvement running with Autolite 4100 and B manifold on my 292. I'm also using the later distributor with it.

Re: Stock 57 Fairlane 500

I have a 57 B manifold and 57 Autolite carb with PCV spacer on my 56 292. The PCV runs to a T-Bird valley pan. The carb was rebuilt by Sal late last year. I'm thinking about going back to the...

Re: 55 or 56 Ford y block ID ?

My 56 with a build date of 10/21/55, according to the patent plate, has the freeze plugs. It has the original 292.

Re: 79 Granada 6 cyl nengine noise

I had both a 200 and 250 in the '70 Mavericks I owned and neither one had exhaust manifold gaskets. Neither had been removed prior to my removing the heads.

Re: Finding original options / paperwork

I found a partial sheet that looks like it was glued on the inside of my spare tire rim. The wheel and tire are still original and has not seen much use.

Re: Kultulz

It just says he was last active 2 months ago but I couldn't find an exact date.

His ford-trucks.com profile stats were noted he was visiting the site on 5/28.
