"Back then" when your car wouldn't start, it was pretty common to open the driver door, push the car, jump in and "bump start" it. Not at all uncommon today if you can not recruit a couple of buddys...

Henry Ford said every Model A would go 65 MPH, He did not say drive at a continuous 65 MPH. Any Model A done right is good for 45-50 MPH continuous and 55 if the occasion arises.

I am always amazed to find "many" Model A guys that don't even torque those two long studs at proper torque. They are afraid of breaking the casting.

I believe they should be torqued the same as...

Oven cleaner will remove paint if it splashes.

I use oil eater. Spray it on generously and then use scraper. Spray it again and use hose with nozzle. Repeat if necessary. Mask and spray paint.

If your cable is just a "little" short and slips out of the speedometer, a common fix is to add 2 or 3 BB's in the speedometer drive on the torque tube.
