Re: Anyone using an air/fuel meter?

I used an Innovate unit to set up my weber carb. After a couple of months my sensor would crap out. In the mean time it worked great.

Re: Shorting pitman arm

When I shortened mine, I first calculated it in AutoCAD and found that 1-1/4" let the stops on the arms at the wheels touch just before the box ran out of movement. This didn't widen the turning...

Re: Car wanders

It's between 0° and 1° on both sides.I get the same readings on the center of the axle and just behind the king pins. Possibly the radius arms are bent?

Re: Car wanders

I have a F1 box and before that I had a 2 tooth box. Both of them wandered. There was less than 3/4 inch play in either box.

Re: Car wanders

Ronn
It just seems to wander around, around, .....

Already changed front and back tires.

I think it got worse when I changed the holder for the rear of the radius rods from the rubber ball...

Car wanders

Lately I have been having the front end wander as if in a strong side wind. I have checked the toe-in, camber, tire pressure and snugged up the adjustment on the steering box to no avail. I just...

Re: Tremec T170 Transmission Troubles (this issue may be a puzzle)

The picture of the whole setup looks like the one I have in my car. I got mine from Tim Sheridan in Nunca, MI. His number is 616-837-6477 and his prices were good. His setup uses the stock bell...

Re: upgrade to 1932 brakes?

I have mine converted to '35's. Not only is it 12" but the shoes are wider than the '32 to '34. Don't know what you can do if you need new drums.

Re: Drag link hits the tie rod

tinkirk
I had a shorter pitman arm on it from my 2 tooth box but it didn't go far enough on a left turn with the wheels straight ahead at the center of boxes travel. I now have an F100 box in it.

Drag link hits the tie rod

I changed the front string with one that is 1" lower than the stock spring. Now the tie rod and drag link rub each other. Has any one else have this problem and how did you solve it?

Re: Who makes F 150 T 170 transmission kits?

I like my 4 speed OD F150 transmission.
I got mine from Tim Sheridan in Nunca, MI. His number is 616-837-6477 and his prices were good. His setup uses the stock bell housing, and doesn't have...

Re: ARP head studs

I use the ARP studs in my engine. The thing I like is the allen head socket in the top end. It's a lot easier to pull the head of you remove the nuts and then unscrew the studs. With this setup, I...

Re: Most Difficult Restoration Tasks

I agree with many others. Replacing the Sport Coupe top was the hardest job. On top of that the instructions for tacking on the front were actually for a Cabriolet not a Sport Coupe.

Re: What color to paint repro Winfield 7:1 head?

Benson & Ruth
The distributor is from a 1979 Honda Civic. I had to machined the bottom of the body slightly to fit into the head. The shaft was then cut to length and the tab machined on the end....

Re: Modern one piece valve guide removal

As the engine is still in the car, I don't want to pull the cam & lifters out. So, I think Brent's advice will be the best way to go. Thanks to all for your inputs.
