Re: Speedometer error

It's amazing how different people's standards are. I can't imagine careing about 3mph. My curiosity is aroused though, as to what the adjustment mechanism is. I restored mine, but cant remember any...

Re: Water Pump Removal

That's a job best done when the head is off, but that convenience exists rarely. Try. A good penetrating oil soak overnight. Then try a pair of vice grips. Pray they come out without breaking. Heat...

Re: '29 roadster pickup sill plates

Re: Head gasket indentations pics

That's not at all a problem. I wouldn't have even given it a thought. You just got a free gasket, compliments of Sac Vint Ford.

Re: Timing and hand throttle levers

The first one should be easy, as you can see down the other hole for guidance. Feel your way around with the second one, and you can tap the installed one to get your orientation for the second. You...

Re: The Terry Burtz 5 main bearing engine blocks are back on track.

From everything Terry has explained, if you want babbit bearings, your going to have to get that done as a custom project, as he has planed for all insert bearings. ( not included )

Cam bushings...

Do us all a favor, and tell us what choice you made, whatever it is. Just curious.

Re: New Tire Recommendation

Basically, you lay a large garbage bag over the wheel, as it lays on a carpet floor. The slippery nature of the bag allows you to slip the tire over the rim by hand with no tools.

Re: New Tire Recommendation

Since you did not wear out your existing tires after all those years, durability is not as important. If your not concerned about judging, I would suggest a very reasonable choice. The Lucas tires...

Re: Crank grinding

Why is this in the "A" forum? Who is going to offset grind an "A" crank?

Re: 29 light switch

Please excuse the intrusion here, but it seems the perfect opportunity to mention a related issue. When I put my truck together I used what I think was an early 70's repo, or maybe an NOS harness,...

Re: 28/29 Brake Light Switch

On the 28/29 switch, it is easy to repair. On some, the spring when fully compressed, if short, can pull the overall shaft out of the rear of the unit rendering it brake lights on full time. I put...

Re: Pressure test plate

To me, it makes little sense to go through the task of opening the bore, without opening the entire valve and combustion area. Doing so makes a good case for having it at least 1/2" thick steel.

Re: The Terry Burtz 5 main bearing engine blocks are back on track.

I don't recall hearing anything about the cam. Will we be on our own shopping for a cam, or will a stock A cam work with the 5 webs in the block?

Re: Assistance Needed !

It's a common complaint. You wouldn't think one stud would allow enough movement of the head to allow a leak, but it is what it is, and people just drop the water leval.

Re: Ford F1 pitman arm refurb: Spherical turning without any fancy fixtures.

That was very interesting, and very creative on your part. Being a newbie with my Logan, I'm always learning new ways to get the job done. Thanks Mart

Re: Water Pump Removal

Excellent point, I didn't think about how thick your core is. My Berg core is as big as would fit, not a lot extra room left. That explains a lot of differing experiences.

Re: Stuck Signal Stat 900 Signal Switch

Try temporarily connecting a 6 volt bulb to one of the LEDs in parallel. If the flasher flashes as it should, you just need a load due to low current draw of the LED.
