1934 Philco ashtray radio receiver/speaker

Very clean 86-year-old survivor that has been professionally brought back only to working order. Not completely restored or rebuilt. Nearly 90% of the original guts of this survivor are intact and...

Re: Blowing fuses in my '33

I was leaning on that idea. Over the course of time something got exposed and is tripping the fuse. Well, intense inspection is now the plan. Thank you!!!

Just read the 3 responses to my query and I appreciate all your help. Thank you. Before I go and purchase a new harness ( which may be the smart thing to do after 86 years of usage) I will...

Blowing fuses in my '33

Gents,
First off, I'm no electrical genius by any stretch, but I'm wondering what causes the 25 amp fuse to blow that cuts out my lights and radio in my '33?
Let me back up and first say that I am...

Re: The Highwaymen Movie

I've watched this 8 times.... so far! Yeah, it's a slow mover at times but the all the 34's were sweet. I have a '33 deluxe and was hoping to spot one somewhere in the film. Even a Model B would've...

Re: '33 steering column lights/ horn contacts

Thanks!!! I now know how the end cap releases. I was just tugging on the cap ensuring to not twist either way in this early stage of dismantling. The last thing I want to do is yank or twist any...

'33 steering column lights/ horn contacts

Gentlemen,
I'm kinda stuck on how to remove the lower end cap of the steering column to expose the rotary electrical contact element. The sole reason for doing this is that a very reliable and...

Re: 1933 mirror assembly

OK. I had a fella that said he has a few of these but wanted photos of exactly which one I need. I couldn't figure out how to post photos in a message back to the guy so I thought I could do this....

Re: 1933 manifold wiper fitting problem

I do see what you mean. That is what I see. A taper to the exact size of the brass fitting then a hole the same size as the opening in the fitting. Looks correct to me.

Re: 1933 manifold wiper fitting problem

I will try that! Thank you. This evening I went back at it and peeked at the manifold hole. Doesn't seem to be anything broken off in there yet when I stick the brass tube into that port it gets to a...

Re: 1933 manifold wiper fitting problem

The tubing slides freely through the fitting so no problem there. I wii inspect the manifold threaded opening and test with only the tube as you suggested. Here's hoping that nothing is blocking the...

Re: 1933 manifold wiper fitting problem

Presumably, It is a Ford nut purchased from MACs with no ferrule. Is it possible I didn't tighten it down enough into the manifold? I thought I took it as far down as she would go. Guess I could try...

Wanted: 1933 radiator for 8 cylinder

Must be original. NOS would be outstanding but know that would be a rare occurrence. No leaks and patch jobs, please. Nice straight core.
