You could place C-clamps ( With some juggling ) on the cyls, before hanging shoes and drums. Use your preference for bleeding. if good pressure and no leakage job done.

I vote for straight prpes. With the headers and 1 and 3/4 inch pipes. You save money on cam and mufflers and, the ladies ought to be happy.

I never use anything other than brake fluid to wet the hones. It's nasty and I don't enjoy it but that is what the industry taught me.

Clean out with paper toweling and more brake fluid. Assemble...

Not likely that it will just go away. The stuff is stickier than paint. It may even corrupt the friction disc.

The coating treatment needs a solvent wash, ( most common would be carb cleaner )....
