My Grandfather was a mechanic at a Ford dealership when Model A's were new. My Dad started working with him as a teenager. My Dad told me the above was the reason for the holes in the tray.

Try a different service. Having a title should not be a constraint. I used a service and I had an out of state title.

You don't need to go to the DMV for a vin verification. There are organizations that can come to your house and do it. That's how I did mine when the body was off.

Check the wires with a test light or meter to be sure, but the black should be the 12v charge wire. The center wire is usually used for backup lights.

On my 28 Tudor the bows are 41 3/4 inches long. The center of the holes are 3/8 inches in from the ends of the bow.

If you add resistance in series with the brake/turn signal bulb/led you will decrease the current to the bulb. In series, resistance adds, and more resistance means less current. Less current...
