Then read the next paragraph in the owners instruction book-- how to test that you have the timing set correctly--- as you hand crank it push in the pin, as it drops in the recess spark should occur

I did it different last time--- used head gasket, tightened with original tool kit wrench, about as tight as I could get it with one hand, backed off slightly, re tightened twice over 3 days, haven't...

I just oil according to owners instruction book--- take oil can and fill factory oiler on distributor body--- when I look later there's fresh oil slight wetness at top bushing

Hold by taper, slam down on block of wood
Or just leave together, replace both parts, most likely ther is excessive damage that will prevent reuse

possible pinion bearing nuts loose, driving the pinion gear is pushed into the bearing, in reverse it would try to screw itself deeper into the ring gear causing binding

If the pistons are melted it probably got too hot, if the bearings didn't melt the crankshaft is probably good

The old air cooled VW pressure switch is much lower pressure--- think 1-1/2---- used to use them on cars that the oil pressure light would blink at hot idle

Take apart wheel cylinders and inspect to see if holes drilled properly--- the bleeder hole at top, the fluid hole in center---- some have bleeder hole drilled 1/2 way down, some fluid holes drilled...

I put in a A&L burnout proof one 35 years ago, the first one I melted the solder off, but still works, later production ones were welded and do not fail---- why do modifications if a good stock...

How thick is the disc that was used
What flywheel was used-- the 32 flywheel uses about the same clutch as model A

Perhaps the solder bump is too large and it prevents it from seating in the groove in the coil tower

One thing about a stock model A---if you over fill the crankcase it will adjust the level itself, and apply rustproofing to itself at the same time in some areas

I have seen the saddle split too. They bought some at work, I refuse to use ones with cast saddle, too brittle, brought in old USA ones with forged parts

Filter??? , debris in fuel tank???, tank venting??? Along with other posts--- similar carburetor used in 70s cars also can have screens above float valve or between fuel inlet and float valve

I used to have headlight ground problems---then i put new lockwashers in for headlight nuts and headlight bar nuts---no more problems, the rest of the connections are original, had some problems with...

The engine is stock except for "B" cam, poured the mains a week before a 3000 mile trip, finally got it together the night before we left, broke it in on the road, second night it rocked on...
