Re: Make a model T a little more safe

Kids. Grandkids. Neighborhood kids.

No mention of them. If there is a chance of EVER driving with kids in the car, I would at least put belts in the back seat. Belts would prevent them from...

Re: 292 rear main seal

Thanks everybody. I have the car at a friends shop. He is a good mechanic, but too young to know much about Y-blocks.

I will pass the info on to him, and thanks again.

Sneaky Pete I remember...

292 rear main seal

I think I read somewhere that there is a way to replace the rear main seal on my '55 T-Bird without removing the motor and trans.

I know my memory is faulty, but in this case is it correct? If...

Re: 1955 Ford Disc Brake Conversion

I cannot remember what year, but we used 2" dropped spindles and stock rotors from some T-Bird on my '56 Vickie. They clear the stock wheels.

Re: Another oddball question..mirrors.

Thanks Reman, but what I would like is something that is streamlined and protects the mirror, and has remote electrical adjustment.

It would look like any mirror found on mustangs and many others...

Another oddball question..mirrors.

'55 T'bird.

Does anyone know of any side mirrors that are remotely operated like on newer cars (like Mustangs) that would fit the door contours of my Bird?

I am tired of adjusting them every...

Re: '55 T-bird bucket seats?

Thanks guys.

I have checked out several aftermarket seats, and some look good, but at my age, the ones with large bolsters are non starters. Some good suggestions and ideas here. I will consider...

Re: Best Practical Engine Swap

Can't argue with the experts, but my first step would be to locate the best running convertible 5.0 Mustang with EFI and AOD, I could find. I say convertibles, because there are always some around...

Re: 50's Fords in old movies

One of my favorite TV shows is 77 Sunset Strip. One of the leads had a new T=bird every year, another had a new Ford, another a Mercury....all convertibles. Poor Cookie, sold his Model A Tudor, and...

Re: '55 T-bird bucket seats?

Got seat belts. Use seat belts. Every time I go around a left turn corner I find myself unconciously putting my right hand down on the seat to hang on.

No, not playing Ricky Racer, and the car...

'55 T-bird bucket seats?

I probably won't do it, but does anyone know what low rise bucket seats would fit nicely in a '55 Bird?

Not interested in mini van takeouts with folding arm rests.

This is probably idle...

Re: Hoist for T Bird hardtop

One problem I have had with the heavier version of this lift is the up/down switch. It sometimes sticks on, and sometimes won't connect at all. I keep it unplugged when not using it.

I also look...

Re: 55/56 Ford headlite trim

Well, I went back to get those three good Headlight doors, and they were GONE!

I suspect someone behind be in line the other day might have gotten them. Oh well, they were for spares anyway.

'22 three door touring??

I have a survivor hot rod that was put together in the mid '50s. I assume it was made from lots of junkyard parts, but don't know.

It looks like the builder jacked up the 'T' touring body and...

55/56 Ford headlite trim

Talking here about the chrome 'eyebrows' seen on Headlight doors (bezels) of certain '55 and '56 Fords.

I found four of these chrome eyebrows at, of all places, a thrift shop. I have seen them...

Got really good...

Re: Why would you waste your money on that Model A

I'll bet your neighbor leases those cars. Yours is an 'investment', not a write off.
