Re: Repairing frame rust

I am not seeing the top flange of the frame, is it gone too as well as the floor? Is that frame so rare you can't find a better one? My avatar roadster original frame both the top and bottom...

Re: Barrett Jackson

Yeah, value is dropping. If I was in this for the money I would sell them all now ( or better yet turn them into resto-mods first). I WOULD NEVER DO THAT. And with the low current value, nice cars...

Re: 40 Heater recore??

A core the same thickness that is larger can be cut down (both for width and length) and the stock tanks with supply tubes can be soldered on. A friend who used to work in a radiator shop told me...

Re: Vibration - rumble

That hub turns awfully easy, is the other one turning the opposite direction as it should? I don't think I have ever put one of these rear ends together where going through the spider gears it...

Re: Vibration - rumble

I would suspect a broken axle, and the external bracket/clip prevented the wheel drum and end of axle from exiting the car. Agree with 51-Merc-CT. If you take the safety bracket off you can...

Re: Anyone....Anyone?????

What I sprayed on my basement wall/floor junction wasn't thick. It sprayed about a 2" wide strip where I pointed it. Might be hard to get a streak free job on a wide surface. Get a can and...

Re: Anyone....Anyone?????

I do know that the glue on Flex Tape is unbelievably strong. I put some on a piece of white PVC I thought was temporary and couldn't pull it off.

Re: Anyone....Anyone?????

It might. I sprayed some at the junction of my concrete basement wall and floor and it stopped a small seepage of water. It doesn't go on real thick if you move the can fast enough.

Re: Vibration - rumble

What year is the pickup? What about a rear wheel bearing? If it was a front you would probably feel it in the steering wheel. If you are coasting down a hill turn the engine off and push in the...

Re: 39 rear drain plug

I have a tool that each end has 4 different size square male protrusions on it and I can always find one that will work, even on plugs that have been messed up and enlarged.

Re: Back in the day question ?

A friend has an "early" 32 tudor that was cut off behind the stock front seats and a wood back panel was constructed and metal tabs left from the body were bent over and nailed to the wood. He calls...

Re: 600/16 Tires

Phillipswanson, they were cheaper then the 5 Ford Script double wide whitewall bias ply tires I got from Coker (which are no longer being made). I will never use bias ply tires on any of my cars I...

Re: 600/16 Tires

I put 600/16 Diamondback Auburn radials on my 40 wagon and it drives like a new car! Since I no longer need to be point judged, I took the bias ply tires off. These look very much like stock tires...

Re: 8BA doesnt have power

When an otherwise fine running flathead all of a sudden has not much power it can also be that the spring strap on one of the sets of points has broken. The engine will run on one set of points but...

Re: Leaf Spring Prep...

I think Kube powder coats his leaves. I am done with old Ford springs, but if I was doing one again that is probably what I would do. The NOS pair in my wagon Kube recovered long ago and are...

Re: Electronic distributor for 1939 Ford 1/2tn pick-up

I was going to say I have seen problems with the voltage variations coming out of a generator on the Pertronic units, but you have an alternator and 12 v so with good grounds and connections that...

Re: Testing Helmet On Sun Machine

marko39, Yes, removing the vacuum brake piston is step one when working with a machine like Sun, or others like an Allen that spins the distributor, when working on an old Ford distributor.

Re: Testing Helmet On Sun Machine

35fordtn, my machine has no LED kit so maybe there is a slight lag due to the flash tube. That wouldn't surprise me.

Re: 32 ford roadster

Re: 1933 frame horns?

If it matters to you (like if you already have bumper brackets) the early 33s bolt spacing on the frame horn ends for the bumper brackets is closer together then the later 33s which I think is the...

Re: 33 34 big truck fenders on 32 pick up

What deuce lover said x2. Many have tried to make those fit on a 32 frame and there is a lot more to it then just taking out the raised area over the rivets. They won't work on a 32 but will on a...
