Re: Tim to sell the old girl

Facebook ads are free, and I use them for certain things,
but you are going to get a lot of spammers and lowballers from those postings.
Stick with the Model A Club sites and Hemmings to reach your...

Re: What color to paint repro Winfield 7:1 head?

When I was running a Lion head 20 years ago, I painted it red and liked that look.

Will eventually put the Brumfield head that came with it back on our Town Sedan.

Getting more eccentric with...

Re: Question ????

In 1976, my ex-wife's VW bug caught fire on I-75 in Florida.
Fortunately a passer-by had an extinguisher and put it out with very minor damage.
Since then I have always carried an extinguisher in...

Re: Time lapse Model A engine build

I have disassembled several engines that were being run regularly, and a few that have sat up for years, including a flathead Dodge I rescued from an overgrown fence row.
Never saw any meaningful...

Re: Time lapse Model A engine build

Great fun to watch.
Liked their heating coil they used to loosen head & manifold studs.

It would have been really easy to paint the oil pan black.
Same for green on the intake manifold &...

Re: Checklist for startup after 10-month unplanned hiatus

Re: Cross country transport

Although what you referred to as "495 miles in 2 days" was actually 495 miles per day, 2 days in a row.

I have made several trips that were...

I drove 495 miles two days in a row returning to Florida from Dallas in 2008.
Driving a Tudor with Mitchell O/D.
Exhausting.

No doubt...

Rex-a-co Temperature Gauge problem

Installed a Rex-a-co temperature gauge in our Town Sedan about 10 years ago.

Stays at about 160 degrees whether stone cold...

"new" ride.....

But for the last 8 years #1 on the list for...
