Re: Rear exit manifolds for flathead 39 Ford

Would be interesting if we could see a episode of engine masters do a flathead buildup. Maybe we need to start harassing Freiburger.

Re: Rear exit manifolds for flathead 39 Ford

I bet a turbo or super charge would be the SINGLE best way. A modern part not a back in the day part.

Re: 4:40.1 Gears in a 39 Sedan?

Thanks for the info, it currently has a 8BA in it and I don’t know much about the car. It’s a standard so it’s very possible it was a 60HP car. What other indicators are there for a 60 hp car.

4:40.1 Gears in a 39 Sedan?

I was surprised to find 9/40 stamped in the rear of my 39 sedan which means it has 4:40 gears.

Any thoughts? Was that an option? More likely from a 60HP car?

Thanks for any info.

Nice condition vintage tow outfit from a 1954 Ford Truck. Fits into the bed of a truck and no PTO needed. The boom has a hand crank and electric motor. Period correct for any 40s or 50s truck.
