If you have a broken piston on an engine with that few miles/time, I wouldn't be taking a chance on simply replacing ONE piston/rings. As a minimum, I'd likely pull the other 7, and inspect. Perhaps...

I've used the KD brand thread inserts. And, yes, the ones I've experienced, all come out with the plug. In the distant past, I've been able to get KD inserts.

I'm gonna make a guess... My 03 GC is a 6 cyl, and does NOT have a D44. Perhaps it's V8 GC's that have the Dana 44 ?? Or maybe it's MODEL related. Mine is a Laredo.
