Bob C, that PTO was what has has kept me curious about this thing. What might that have been used for, like a winch on a wrecker? As to value do you mean the actual parts of the PTO?

This did come bolted to an 8ba that I bought, guy would only sell if I bought both. I notice the differing opinions on its date 38, 48-52. I think I'll keep the bellhousing and scrap...

B&s, Yes there is much to be said for rebuilding the original engine, and that is something I'm considering. I do have an nos 53 Merc cam and a Buba's chevy distributor that wouldn't get used though....
