And I'll have to agree to disagree about this. Yes, you would get some oil leakage past the stock rear bearing with a shield which isn't going to hurt anything; as long as you maintain the oil level...

Put a bearing with a seal on the output shaft; fill the u-joint housing with JD Cornhead grease or the like... if the oil is coming from the transmission, problem solved.

The serial number is...
