1940 Door Latch Screws

My existing door latch screws are getting pretty wallowed.

I double checked and compared the left side with a centered socket and the right side with the socket on the outside of the housing.

Thank you I will keep that in mind. Going to try and drill out the rivets and move the socket over to the middle of the bucket.

Thank you all for your advice. I did use some shiny silver ( almost chrome) duct tape I had left over from an insulation kit. Lined the buckets as best I could. It does work.
