Re: 1934 pickup

That is interesting as the transmission cover plate in my 34 pickup also has no holes drilled in it for screws.

Re: 1934 pickup leaking fuel from filler neck

I ran a metal ruler / straight edge over the surface of the neck where the cap sits. It appears to be dead level.

1934 pickup leaking fuel from filler neck

My 1934 pickup is leaking fuel from the filler neck area. I knew the truck had this problem when I bought it and I assumed a leaky seam on the tank or a leak in the filler neck so I removed the tank...

Re: 1933-34 Ford pickup dash light

I figured the housing bracket must mount behind the central dash screw, following the reply from David G. I didn't have the bracket itself when posting the question but I have since located it among...

1933-34 Ford pickup dash light

Can anybody tell me where the dash light bulb is fitted on a 1933-34 pickup? I can't find a housing on the back of the dash.

Re: 1932 Dash Light Switch , Help

Thank you for this advice. It's neat to be able to search previous threads for answers. I undid the knob from the dash light switch relatively easily once I knew what to do.

Re: The Official '32-'34 Truck Thread

Ok, more pics, here's a pic from an outing last Sunday - it was a beautiful morning for a drive and both pickups performed well, which is good because the restored one has had oil pump problems...

Re: update Trev 52Merc

The inevitable has finally come to pass. I have many good memories of times spent with Trev over the past 30 years or so. I will miss his regular cheerful phone calls, his straight talking advice and...

Re: 35 Colonial cab pickup

Thanks for the response Tom.

Yes, Roger Gardiner's book is an excellent well-researched document. I'm curious now about the closing date for the Timaru plant. The 1935 production figures that...

Re: 35 Colonial cab pickup

Hi Trev, Ford Motor Co NZ were selling Seaview plant production from 1936 but Colonial Motor Co continued to distribute Ford products in their own right. They went on to great success as the holding...

Re: 1933 Ford Panel question

The front doors, driver or passenger. Certainly don't have pickup pillars to substitute. The wood had been replaced but now just need a photo to see how those striker plates fit.

Re: 1933 Ford Panel question

Any chance of a photo of the door shuts / striker plates on this panel body? I'm trying to figure out how they fit.

Re: 33 dump truck cab same as 1/2 ton?

I'm certainly curious now. Is the metal seat-riser the same? (I can't compare as the 33 cab I have came off a bigger truck with the under-seat fuel tank).

Re: 33 dump truck cab same as 1/2 ton?

I thought that the wide extra belt moulding on the 34 cab was simply for added strength. I don't see any extra space in my 34 cab, compared with the 33.

Re: 1933 Ford Panel question

They should have a recessed area as you describe, but those guards do not look right. Unlike a pickup rearguard, there is no lip on the inside of the guard.

Re: An Early Ford Truck Post... Let's see them.

Here are two 34 pickups. One photo is a 'driving' shot from the cab of "the beater" and the other is a photo of a friend's pickup that he finished restoring a couple of years back. It is a NZ pickup...
