Re: Looking for exhaust port layout drawing

This is the Ford drawing. A little hard to read with this upload but, the center distance is 7.812 or 15.624, end to end. 1.437 or 2.874 on the flange holes, set at 30 deg.

Re: rear axle nut torque

Let me tell you a little story about the pre 48 axle nuts.

When I was 18 (1963), my best friend had a 32, chopped and channeled, 5 window coupe, with a 326 CI Olds and a 4-71 blower on top of...

Re: Vibration - rumble

A quick question. With it on stands w/o tires, in gear and running, have you used a stethoscope on the rear axle and rear of the trans areas?

Re: A 1934 Ford Columbia Brochure Found In A Ford Dealership

Well DD, you will note that I said Ford (as in the company) not Ford's (as in the passenger car).

The revolutionary automobile assembly line.

Yes, the first mass produced V8.

In '32/'34...

Re: As Promised Another Brochure, Engine Exchange 1934

Thank you for that, Bill. I can't believe the condition of it.

It goes along with my research on the Authorized Ford Rebuilder network.

It says "new" in the brochure so, how certain are you...

Re: A 1934 Ford Columbia Brochure Found In A Ford Dealership

I have a Zephyr OD trans. After getting, I research it on a Lincoln forum (LZOC). I didn't ask but, the way they talked, it seemed like the Columbia 2 speed, was a factory option, not dealer...

Re: A 1934 Ford Columbia Brochure Found In A Ford Dealership

What about the Lincoln Zephyr? Was it dealer installed for them also?

I know that the OD transmission, replaced the 2 speed but, there was one year overlap. 1939 or 40, I think. Some people think...

Re: Valve to head clearance

The way to get your answer is to, measure the head gasket thickness that your going to use and then, with a depth mic, measure the depth of the area, over the valve, in the head. Add them together...

Re: members that have collected other car besides ford

I am a "DIE HARD" Ford guy but, over the years, I have owned a few Chev's.

In the 70's, I owned a '33 Chev, 2 door, that was chopped and channeled. A beautiful car, I wish I still had it! In that...

Re: Intake port repair

Maybe this will help or at least help a future porter.

This is a 1935 intake port. I doubt if any thing changed over the years but, I'm not sure of that....

Re: 21 Stud Piston Fit

Thank you, all, for your comments. I would love to have more input though.

My lathe chucks, are Buck, adjustable 3 jaws, so I can make soft jaws and do as Kurt, suggests.

21 Stud Piston Fit

I just received my Simi Finished pistons, for my late '36 engine. It will be .080 over or 3.142 basic bore.

These pistons measure 3.149 and are suppose to be finished by cam grinding the skirts.
