The kit that I disassembled just had something like a welting material in between. Nothing substantial. The rear plywood had been cut to allow the hump of the rear crossmember through.

On a lighter note;
Tore down a partially built speedster to the chassis to redo the body. Got the stuck valve freed up and took it for a test spin. Notice the lawnmower gas tank. My only suggestion...

That head came on one of four engines we got from a guy getting rid of some of his old spares out of CT. Babbit was shot in all of them, but got some nice parts out of it, including a B cam! :D
