Re: Early 60-A 2-window Fordor Sedans

My sedan doesn't have windshield vents like other Model A's, that's were the side vent was needed and probably helped delayed production of the fordor. The dash is flat with no screws holding it on.

Re: Early 60-A 2-window Fordor Sedans

I've had my July 28 for 30 years and seldom see 28 fordor's with LS cowl vent at National Meets. I don't think they had right vents. Factory photo's highlight left side vents, upside down handles,...

Re: Early 60-A 2-window Fordor Sedans

My is a July 28 with a left hand side cowl vent. Are you looking for a right hand drive car?
Years ago my friend had a early roadster with cowl vents on both sides (surely not original)

Re: KR Wilson Groover

Thanks Terry.
Easily made made from high speed round stock, probably 5/16? Notice the relief angles on top and sides. Machinist call them form tools and sharpen using a abrasive honing stone.

Re: KR Wilson Groover

You make your own cutter out of some 1/4 high speed steel stock. Most machine tool shop sell. It will need to be shaped using a grinder to match the groove needed.

I've used the rule of 9 on my Miller also but recently picked up a P & G valve gapping tool.
I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Along with the cowl vent the early-mid 28's had a different straight dash without a windshield vent.

Re: GM Clutch Modification

Hi Jim
I looked up a 1985 ranger pressure plate on Rock Auto and they also have 6 mounting bolts like the early Ford V8 pressure plates. It would be nice if they were the same dimensions?

I noticed after rebuilding my block and sealing it with Glyptal the oil stayed clean for a long time with out a filter. Cast iron has a lot of carbon.
