Re: How many Model A Phaetons were made?

Over here, the Phaeton (tourer) was BY FAR the biggest seller. As for getting wet, mine stays dry but I have put a little extra into getting the top right. I believe the Tudor was a poular choice...

Re: Draglink has a slight kink in it.

It should be straight but as Wensum says, they often get a nudge from a tyre and end up with a bend. Just straighten it and drive on is my advice. Oh, and adjust the steering stops so the tyre...

Re: Starter armature, is it good?

I was always told this to be the case. If the starter is working, leave it. Maybe a cleanup with a solvent like brake cleaner on a rag but that's all.

Re: Need info on adapting Model A engine to Model B pickup.

B blocks are notorious for cracking but I'm not so sure the diamond B is any better. I have a diamond A and a diamond B engine in two of my cars and I wonder sometimes why anybody bothers chasing a...

Re: Restored Nebraska Model "A" Is junk

At what stage does a car cease to be a car? As I remove parts, it first becomes undrivable but still a title is needed. From then on, it is only a pile of parts (IMO) but I am aware that even that...

Re: Restored Nebraska Model "A" Is junk

Same size as your lower 48 with about one fifteenth or sixteenth the number of people.
There are certain responsibilitiues that fall to the Federal Government and others to the states. For example,...

Re: Oil gusher again

Are you sure the oil leak is coming from the same place? Maybe there were two leaks and you fixed only one. Did you inspect the rear main bearing cap, slinger, drain tube etc? Is the oil filler cap...

Re: Just wondering if

Note to Ryan: Maybe the addition of a "Like" button would slow down redundant replies like "X2" and "Ditto".
As for reading other responses before replying myself, I read them but it is clear many...

Re: Newbie '29 Speedster project, the good the bad and even the ugly (maybe)

Re: International Model A Day 2019

A framed list of past members is on display between vases of flowers and a minute's silence is observed for them. I figure we are all here to support each other whether through the car club or some...

Re: Restored Nebraska Model "A" Is junk

Hmmm, seems the "United States" are not very consistent!
I know many over there consider this country to be solialist but we are far more consistent. Once registered in one state, easy in any other....

Re: Phaeton Front Seat Removal

The cushion just lifts out. The squab requires a little umpicking around the back for removal.

Re: 6V to 12V conversion

No, the starter will turn in the same direction. They are not polarity sensitive. When I convert to 12v, I modify the starter so it doesn't kick as hard when it engages. The vendors have kits for...

From these posts, I gather you guys held International Model A Day on Saturday. Our club is holding our day on Sunday (today) and we are just about to leave for the venue. We make the day a memorial...

Re: Restored Nebraska Model "A" Is junk

Not that I have the right to say much but I agree about the craziness of the states handling this stuff - and your states are so small!
FWIW, Australia is the same size as your lower 48 and has 6...

Re: Restored Nebraska Model "A" Is junk

Might be a way forward, then.
As for crazy systems, we have plenty too. Maybe it's because I grew up here and therefore understand the way it works here better but it seems to me you guys take the...

Re: Restored Nebraska Model "A" Is junk

I don't begin to understand the concept of a title for a car (we don't have them) but from what I've read here, some states over there don't issue titles for cars over a certain age. How would...

Re: new build with zero clearance,Hagerty

Too clean. I wouldn't feel comfortable working in there. I'd be afraid my wife would tell me to take off my shoes!

Re: new build with zero clearance,Hagerty

When I watched the video on this, I thought the bearings had been machined with a shovel. I think they are so rough that their so called zero clearance will soon become acceptable once the high spots...

Re: water pump ID

I convert my Model A pumps to use a carbon seal and sealed ball bearing in the front. No leaks yet. I have made a couple of castings with slight modifications (none that would be visible) so that I...
