Why drop the tank when that may not be the problem...I would check the electric fuel pump if its getting power to it..then go from there..

The 600- 16 should have tubes,, the inside of the rims should be blasted for any sharp edges, possibly blast the whole wheel and paint,,I like liners with tubes but thats a matter of personal...

When you mentioned radial I went that route,,,I found it was difficult to steer and lowered the car a bit..I found 6:50 and 6:00 -16 tires handled alot better for me...just my 2 cents

I use a wire brush to bring the numbers to the surface but be careful,,,,some numbers are stamped hard ---some light,,if you find the star you're on the right track!
