Google might be quicker. Spray some penetrant around that piston for a few days and maybe it’ll free the ring....... Mark

I believe it’s cyl. Head to bottom of temp control valve. Top of temp valve to bottom of heater core. Top of heater core back to fitting by water pump and it makes the trip again .... Mark

Yes turn the same way as to remove them. That way when you tighten to close, they tighten in the threaded bung also..... Mark

I think the problem with your local NAPA was the person doing the searching. That is why “Kube” made the comment about the age of the counter person. Searching online would bypass the person and you...

I have the stock gauge in one and a mechanical gauge in the other. 180* thermostats. ‘50 8BA,Keep it running 180*-190*. Your motor will be happy ..... Mark
