Re: How to tag a swapmeet ad SOLD

The problem is, you can only make comments (like sold) on the last entry. That's the only place where there is the option to edit, so if anyone looks at your ad, they would have to scroll all the way...

Re: distributor questions

Ol' Ron,

The way you do it is the correct way to calibrate spark advance for all driving conditions. The way it was done originally by calibration engineers at Ford. Yes, you can worry about...

Re: Short Trip In The Merc

I think that's pretty normal when idling with the lights on. Generators don't put out much until the RPM is higher.

Re: Vapor lock or not ?

If you can see two fine streams of fuel squirting when you look down the throat of the carb when you open the throttle, and you pump the throttle a couple times, the engine should start, unless there...

Re: Vapor lock or not ?

If your issue is vapor lock, it isn't really a carburetor condition. It's from heat in the fuel supply lines or fuel pump that boils the fuel and the fuel pump can't push it anymore.

Re: holly 94 rebuild kit

Also, the power valve and spark valves are spring loaded in the opposite direction, so that's a way to tell the difference.

Re: IS it the carb adjustment OR the spark plugs

If they are black and shiny/wet looking it could be oil. See if they smell like burnt oil.
Maybe clean all the plugs and run it for a while to check again.

Re: 1956 sedan 223 to 292 swap

Hi,
You can send Steve Fritz a PM or contact him with this phone number or email.
I sold him a '55 Ford with the 223 six and he converted to a 272 V8 three speed manual w/OD. I'm sure he knows...

Re: 1957 Fordomatic

Early Fordomatics were 3 speed with no overdrive. Around 1959 there was an aluminum case Fordomatic that was a 2 speed with no overdrive. You will also probably get a lot more responses if you post...

Re: Running Rich

Maybe no manifold vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator, or leaking internally (regulator). Possible the vacuum hose was never on the regulator, or fell off from poor fit ?

Re: Rebuild a 4412 holley custom

I have a lot of carburetor experience, however I'm not familiar what it takes to calibrate a blow through pressurized carburetor. There may be people on the HAMB that know about this, or even on the...

Re: Holley teapot carburetor leaks after shutoff

When these carbs get sloppy throttle shafts it is pretty much always the shaft that wears since the bushings are bronze. I have had some luck by repositioning the bushings to a fresh spot on the...

Re: Holley teapot carburetor leaks after shutoff

That wives tale is only active with people that never touch this style cab in my opinion. Nothing wrong with them at all if done by someone that knows them.

Re: Holley teapot carburetor leaks after shutoff

I agree with Charlie when he says sloppy throttle shaft fit can cause the fuel to run out and drip on the manifold. Seems kind of odd about doing it on the choke shaft too though, since it's higher...
