Re: Hood hinges

Because the clearances are not correct. This can happen even with an original 4-panel hood.
I’ve seen it more when assembling odd panels together. A file and trial fitting before painting will go a...

Flat head machine screws with nuts underneath as a minimum

Re: 1929 Coupe Sheet Metal Patch Panels

I’ve found 19 gauge works best but not plentiful
20 gauge is fairly common at most steel yards
Or, can be ordered but likely need to be ordered 2x2 or 2x4; much bigger gets cost prohibitive
As to...

Re: Running board repair

Passenger or commercial?
They should have had a “L” bracket in the center from mounting bracket to mounting bracket.
If not there put one if there then likely not sufficient gauge. However welding...

The strip has “some structural support” since a roadster doesn’t have a real sturdy package tray like coupe or cabriolet
I’d make sure...

They are a metal channel to fit the contour of the body along the rear belt rail
Twisted tough material is crimped inside
And yes, the studs are wood like screws that hold into the...

Re: Roadster wood tack strip ?

If so it’s metal curved strip with twisted material inside to receive tacks

Re: 1931 Running Board trim?

Not sure exactly about the question...
31 had only outside edge trim that was zinc and the other edges were moulded rubber that mated directly
to the fenders and splash apron.
The expensive...

Checked MAFCA store and says larger chip samples in...
