Joe's is 1111111hr 45 min, Gotham about 1 1/4 hr away. Will call both Mon am.

I missed a show today and 1 tomorrow. I think there's one left in 2 weeks and then the CSRA swap meet.

FINALLY............I was able to get a small s/driver between the case and bell housing and finally able to get it out. NOTHING looks damaged, Bendix gear moves nicely on the spiral, spring, locking...

UPDATE: Motor locked. I read several dissertations on how to remove the starter and now that I screwed up I have the starter shell out on the ground BUT the armature and nose are "locked" solid in...

Wife and I rocked the car this am, no change. Will try loosening the starter.

I can't turn it over by hand, it's a 59 block with fan on the crankshaft.

starter/sol II

Hi again. Still no luck.
Reolaced the solenoid today, cleaned (wire wheel) all the connections (except on the starter, rocked the car, tapped starter with small hammer (Model A "trick").
Still...

Battery is a coupe months old, horn and headlights work. I don't believe it's the Bendix as car was running and just shut off. New solenoid coming.

Came back from a show today (30 miles), car ran flawlessly. Stopped at house, emptied goody bag out. Went to restart, just a slight noise from solenoid (new Vintique in June-I know), ck'd...

Back in the mid 60's when I worked at the Pont-Cad d/ship. Had to go about 60 miles to get a "new" car at another dealership. Just reached up under the dash and dis-connected the speedo...

The problem is the taper on the w/pump. Many shafts, years ago, had the wrong taper. This has been discussed here before and I think it's on Vince's site.
