Re: Water in oil after sat 2 years

My ‘37 had the same problem after sitting for over 2 years.

It was the core plugs in the pan rail.

Was told by a local old timer to use pre WWII copper wheat pennies as replacements, he said...

Re: Probably the wrong auction venue for this car.

Just had a discussion with Deuce_Roadster last week about this very topic.

The pool of guys interested in antique vehicles is getting smaller and smaller. Seems prices are reflecting it.

60’s...

Kudos to Deuce_Roadster

Been a few months since I’ve posted.

I’ve been enjoying my ‘37 Model 79 since I got it back on the road last spring.

But a couple weeks ago I went out to start the old gal after sitting for...

Re: Source for Hand Brake Bands?

Good catch!

After you posted I looked deeper into the bibles notes, and I agree, the 2620 is just the lining I think.

My bands have 20 holes/rivets per shoe/band assembly. But the bible...

Re: June 6 1944 Normandy

I was there exactly 5 years ago.

My kids all pitched in and paid for my trip as my 60 birthday present.

It’s impossible to stand on the beaches and not be overcome by emotion when you try to...

Source for Hand Brake Bands?

My ‘37 Model 79 needs new hand brake bands. I’ve got 2 complete brake sets (pairs) but all 4 are in need of being relined or replaced.

Looking at Model 51’s book I see a part number of 51-2609,...

Re: 7-1/2 years later…my project is done.

The "younger" sibling is actually my Grandpas '66 F100 that he bought new. I learned to drive in it picking up hay bales from the field...the summer I was 9 years old...1966.

Re: 7-1/2 years later…my project is done.

I just have to bump the start button and it fires off.

7-1/2 years later…my project is done.

I joined Ford Barn in October 2015. That’s the day I brought my ‘37 truck project home. My first post was of the truck and what was correct and what was not.

I immediately got lots of positive...

1937 Model 79 Truck Speedometer Cable?

I can't seem to verify anywhere whether or not the speedometer cable for a regular pickup will work for my 131.5 in wheelbase Model 79.

I don't have the old cable to use as a guide for length so...

Re: Restoring an oil bath air filter

Yeah I'm definitely leaning that way. It already has the oil filter setup and the double belt set. so the HD air filter follows suit.

Restoring an oil bath air filter

I have 2 different air filter setups for my truck, the stock unit that fits on the carburetor, and the heavy duty service unit that bolts to a bracket on the head.

I’m not sure which I’m gonna...

Re: Where do these go?

Ahhhh...so that's the tool for peening the rivets.

I wondered how I was supposed to mushroom the hollow part.

Where do these go?

1937 Truck, hood bumpers.

I know the triangle pieces go on the lower corners of the hood. But where do the radiused ones go?

On the cowl in the recessed areas…or?

This stuff was all...
