There are tricks to building engines, but I haven't found one yet that is tricky to build. LOL


For example, changing the cam on a Y while still in the car. Something as simple as using clothes...

Unbelievable how many people can't understand the concept that when metal wears against metal and you switch it around that it now has to undo all the previous wear...

I hadn't thought to go to a body shop.. I race with a guy who owns one, I will ask him. I know he uses high end stuff on his custom work.

Issue I have found is the one local supplier didn't have the formula for older cars, or so I was told. Which caused me to ask on here.

Have ya'll ever noticed that it is really hard to find caged nut in a 5/16 fine thread?
Just about all the bolts/nuts on these old fords are 5/16 fine thread, and around here they are very hard to...

I agree with calling the cam companies. But ask for the guy who knows that type engine best. I hate to ask a chebby guy about a ford as they are usually clueless.
Also, you can get a tie bar lifter...

As someone has mentioned you can run a flat tappet in a roller block..


But why not call a cam company and tell them what cam grind you want for the block. Sounds like you...
